Everyone is Welcome

The annual South African Dharma Celebration is a wonderful opportunity for people throughout South Africa to gather together to receive practical, inspiring teachings and meet spiritual friends. Whether new to Buddhism or an experienced practitioner everyone is welcome at this joyful event. The Celebration will take place in Durban at the Kloof Country Club

During this weekend event, Gen Kelsang Sangdak, the New Kadampa Tradition-International Kadampa Buddhist Union National Spiritual Director in SA,  will grant the blessing empowerment of Widsom Buddha Dorje Shugden and give teachings onthe powerful and beautiful spiritual practice of ‘Heart Jewel’

Dorje Shugden is the Wisdom Buddha appearing as the Dharma Protector of modern Kadampa Buddhism. He is our ultimate friend and protector; by relying upon him with faith, all our spiritual needs and wishes will be fulfilled and all obstacles dispelled.

Receiving the empowerment of Dorje Shugden creates an unbreakable connection between us and this holy being, so that we will always come under his loving care, never apart from a wise and powerful spiritual friend.

Those new to Buddhism will gain practical methods to solve life’s problems, while more experienced practitioners will be further inspired on their spiritual path.

Profits raised by the South African Dharma Celebration are dedicated for public benefit to the International Temples Project and used for the development of the Kadampa Meditation Centers and Temple Projects throughout the world. This project was founded by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, with the aim to introduce the Buddhist faith and practice of the New Kadampa Tradition publicly.
